　　故事梗概：一个中原小镇，斗鸡竞技在民间，绵延数百年，经历革命，终究未灭。一个老派的中年退伍军人，一个煤矿新富的二代，一个斗鸡的竞技场。

　　Synopsis：

　　In this small inland town of China, cockfighting has been the major recreation for hundreds of years, not even the revolutions could wipe this tradition out.

　　In the new century, this time, a newcomer, the second generation of a nouveau riche family, arrives to challenge an old fashioned veteran, in the arena of cockfighting.

金瑞

　　导演简历：金瑞，祖籍浙江宁波，于文革尾声，生于重庆万县，三线工程的军工厂。出生时窗外游行队伍正大喊“打倒邓小平”。10岁后，随下海的父母辗转浙江，广东。

　　曾到美国上商学院学习金融，回国后进过证券公司，会计师事务所，做过财经记者，05年申请进入到北京电影学院进修。

　　于2010年独立完成自己第一部电影。

　　Bio-filmography of Director：

　　Jin Rui, born in 1976, the last year of the cultural revolution, in the river town of Wanzhou, Sichuan, southwest China. My parents, originally from the east coast, came to this remote place by the “third line” project.

　　When the “open and reform” era unfold, my parents left, and I followed them to the east, Zhejiang province, and then south, Guangdong province.

　　Under the influence of my family, I went to the US to study finance. After I came back to China in 2003, I worked in a securities firm,an accounting office, and then, as a journalist for a business newspaper.

　　In 2005, I went to the Beijing film academy, five years later, my first theme film was born.

　　导演阐述：我们生活的世界，究竟是一个弱肉强食的丛林社会，还是一个遵从游戏规则的文明世界？

　　倘若“非暴力”的甘地，所面对的，不是英国人，而是希特勒式，他的命运，将是怎样？

　　贫富背后的社会权力结构，权力关系，是我所关注的核心。

　　Director’s Statement:

　　Are we living in a world run by the rule of fair play, or instead, the rule of

　　jungle, where the winner chases the loser to the end?

　　In this film, violence is just an element, not the subject. Behind the game of cockfighting, I am more interested of the power structure of this society, and what it means to the rich and the poor.
